On The Hook in the Grenadines
We've finally returned to our beautiful boat, which is currently moored in Trinidad. We enjoyed our 3 months stateside, especially seeing most of our family and friends. While it was a very busy hurricane season in the atlantic, our choice to haul and store the boat on the hard in Trinidad while we were away was a wise one, as we returned to find her in excellent condition.
After several weeks of washing, polishing, and completing some upgrades, she's ready to sail to Tobago for a few weeks before we continue our journey north throughout the Caribbean for our next eight month cruising season.
Trinidad is quite beautiful and has some wonderful cultural offerings. We've enjoyed "Pan Night" where the top steel drum bands compete in the streets. It's like one big musical street party! We've found we also enjoy the Saturday morning fresh market, even though it means catching the 6:30 a.m. bus from our marina! I've purchased a local caribbean cookbook, and I'm having a great time learning to work with all the local fruits and vegetables such as callaloo, dasheen, paw paw, cassava, breadfruit, chadon beni, christophene, and more!
I'll keep the website updated as much as possible as we continue our travels throughout the Caribbean for the next eight months.
We hope you'll follow along, and keep those e-mails coming. We love hearing from everyone! You can e-mail us at pdq4418@yahoo.com.
Cheers!
