Who is BoatTales.com and why do they provide Boating Websites?

BoatTales.com Founders Rob & Jo Lucey

Rob & Jo Lucey

BoatTales.com began when Rob and Jo Lucey decided to take their 38-foot sloop Sea Spell on an extended cruise. Rob told his friend John T. Beresford about their plans. The two had co-owned a small fishing boat based in Matagorda, Texas on the Gulf Coast while working at a newspaper a decade earlier.

Today John lives in Edmond, Oklahoma, where he owns and operates Digital Studio Design, a website design and hosting company, as well as deeWi, a company providing wi-fi wireless Internet access.

John was so inspired by the plans for Sea Spell's voyage that he decided he wanted to come along - albeit vicariously. He helped Rob and Jo register a domain, www.seaspell.net, and designed a site where they have recorded their adventures. Thousands of people have visited the site since they launched it.

John and Rob recognized a business niche: supplying easy-to-use, professional sites custom made to meet the needs of cruisers. By combining John's Internet expertise and Rob's cruising knowledge, BoatTales.com has become a reality, putting great nautical websites within reach of all cruisers.
