Hi Sharon & Gary, Bill and I are now on our great adventure. After we picked up Beat Army we decided to go down the St. Lawrence River instead of the Canal. It has been an amazing trip of a lifetime. We had our grandaughter, who is 9, with us all summer and she is now at home back in school. This is actually the first time just the 2 of us have been on the boat since we picked it up and it\'s nice to relax a little even if we are in delivery mode. We left Portland, Maine this morning and are headed to Nahant, Mass today where Bill has a classmate we are going to see. He may or may not join us for part of the trip. The boat has done really well so far. We have had the usual new boat minor stuff but all in all good. We are not sure whether we are going the ICW or outside to go the rest of the east coast. I think it mainly depends on the weather. We want to be home by the end of October for the holidays then we are planning to go to the Turks & Caicos in January and up the Bahama chain from there. Let us know if any of this area is where you will be at any time. We would love to catch up with you and see you if possible. Vickie & Bill

Gary and Sharon: How Beautiful! We just got this site from your Mom and have enjoyed looking at the pictures and reading of your adventure. I am happy that you are able to live your dream and look forward to being with you through stories and pictures. Gary, it was good to see you if only for a little while when you were here helping your parents. Take care both of you and happy sailing. Love - Jim and Judy O'Donnell

Bill and Vickie | moorev at gulftel.com -- Saturday, April 14, 2007 | 16:37:09

Sharon, Beat Army goes in the water on Wednesday. We're scheduled to move aboard on May 28 and will, along with SALARN, be one of the boats for PDQ U. Then shake down cruise and after fixing what I am able to break we'll be going out the St Lawrence River. We plan to be in Halifax by early August and in Bar Harbor by August 12. Sounds like y'all will be in that area so keep this schedule in mind and maybe we can join up. This email will stay live so, if you want, please keep in touch. Bill and Vickie

I picked up Cruising World magazine's January issue this weekend. Tyler was amazed and absolutely exhilarated to see Granny Annie and Pop-Sea in the magazine! He was so surprised and excited he could hardly contain himself! I’m sure he wet himself - thank goodness for diapers! We then we preceded to talk about coming to see you in the Bahamas next month and started talking about boats with him. It was a great time. We’ve stocked up on the sunscreen and are getting ready for our trip. Congratulations on the wonderful article – see you soon!

Hi Sharon and Gary I hope you enjoyed the Thousand Islands. I visited there many years ago and found it quite pretty. Sorry to hear you won't be at Annapolis, but now that you are really underway I'm sure you'll find someplace more exciting to be. Take care. PJ

Hello Gary & Sharon! Bob & Lynne here from PDQU - hull #18, Leap of Faith. We were so pleased to find your web page on boattales. You've been in our thoughts much lately and we're so glad to hear your commissioning is finally complete and you're close to setting sail. It was such a pleasure meeting you both and enjoying the lovely fireworks display in Whitby aboard Gabridash! As you recall, we'll be sailng down the East Coast in Novemeber as well, so lets stay in touch and see if we can meet somewhere along the way and crack a few crab legs! Gary, don't you listen to those naysayers about your boating skills, I saw you dock that PDQ like a pro! :-) Please keep your web site updated as we're living vicariously through you these days... All Our Best, Bob & Lynne Walsh

Dearest Gary, Have you taken possession of the boat yet with those massive twin 27 hp engines? Has your wife let you take the wheel yet? Is it still afloat? Inquiring minds want to know as we have money riding on the answers. CC: nats

With each passing day and new photo of your lovely boat, I turn a little greener with envy. I have know several people who have shared your dream - but none that have lived your dream. My support and excitement of your newest endeavor will only grow as I learn of your many experiences. Be safe and keep the wind at your back. Love, John Pollock

The Road goes ever on and on. Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone,And I must follow if I can, Pursuing it with weary feet, Until it joins some larger way, Where many paths and errands meet, and whither then? I can not say. From J.R.R Tolkien. This applies to the water as well. God bless and good journeys. Love, John
