The Sailing Adventures of Royal Serf

Home Port

It's not the destination, but rather the journey....

Another day in paradise!

My name is Fred Drummond and I've always had a fascination with boats be they power or sail. As a youngster I built numerous small sailboats and sailed extensively with my father on his boats. My first large vessel was a 26 foot Island Packet that was in the 1984 Annapolis Boat Show. After retirement I renovated an old house in Virginia Beach and decided it was time to go sailing again. I searched for used boats from Florida to New York. Finally I found the boat of my dreams docked at Deltaville, VA. She was the 2004 Annapolis Boat Show Model Catalina 42 MK II. I took possession in February 2005 from Chesapeake Yacht Sales and the adventure began!

Please join me and my fellow sailing friends as we attempt to bring Royal Serf to life to wander the world's oceans. The first adventure will be a trip south on the Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway to winter in the Bahamas. Departure date is set for October 3, 2006.
