PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO SIGN UP FOR A BOATTALES SITE! We regret that the founder has passed away and currently no new sites can be set up.

This website is a blog about the adventures of Rob and Jo Lucey aboard their Morgan 38 sailboat, Sea Spell.

While Rob and Jo wrote the content for the site, the web design, programming and hosting were done by their friend John T. Beresford. Unfortunately, John passed away on October 6, 2007.

Rob and Jo now publish the boating magazine Carolina Currents, which began bi-monthly distribution across the Carolinas and northern Georgia in November 2006. With John's assistance, they launched the online version at www.CarolinaCurrents.com

Sea Spell's journey begins with our purchase of Sea Spell in Texas in October 2001. We left our Clear Lake slip at the end of May 2003 and cruised the U.S. coast until November 2004. We made a two-week passage from Beaufort, North Carolina, to the U.S. Virgin Islands. We traveled down the Eastern Caribbean islands, ending up in Venezuela. Then, in October 2005, we sailed all the way back up to the U.S. and Spanish Virgins and explored Puerto Rico. Now we're back in the USA. After a while in Florida and Georgia, then exploring the Carolinas. Check out details of our travels under "Ships Log."
